Does NanaTato work offline?
Yes. Every NanaTato story, sound, and routine lives on your device, so playback is fully offline. The one exception is the grown-up sign-in that sets the app up: it happens once per install and needs a connection for that moment only. A once-a-day note of the last day the app was opened syncs in the background. If the API is unavailable, the app queues that information and keeps working.
Who is NanaTato for?
NanaTato is for families winding down at bedtime. It's parent-led, sensory-friendly, and low-stimulation — gentle for many kinds of bedtimes.
What do I need to use NanaTato?
An Android phone or tablet and a Google account for the one-time grown-up sign-in. NanaTato is free on Google Play, the sign-in needs a connection for that one moment, and every story, sound, and routine plays offline after that.
What data does NanaTato collect?
NanaTato receives the grown-up's Google email address and Google account ID, verified by Google, when they sign in once to register this install — not your name, photo, or password. After that, the registered install reports at most once a day the day it was last opened, together with the app version — nothing else. We do not ask for child details and never send story titles, play counts, or routine steps. Newsletter consent is separate again. Parent settings lets you sign out and delete this installation's registration, which removes that record too.
Is NanaTato really free?
Yes — NanaTato is free, the whole library, with no subscription, no in-app purchases, and no ads. There is no locked content, no “premium” tier, and nothing that asks your child to tap a price. A grown-up signs in once with Google to set the app up; that sign-in costs nothing either, and no story, sound, or setting is held back behind it.
What is Calm Mode?
Calm Mode is NanaTato's parent-tunable, sensory-friendly, low-stimulation setting: reduced motion, dim screen during audio, a visual timer, a short routine, one-choice mode, larger controls, and hidden decorative animations.
How does the grown-up check work?
The grown-up check is a quick multiplication question, the kind an older child or grown-up answers easily. It guards the parent area in NanaTato — settings, Calm Mode customization, and the grown-up sign-in. A wrong tap simply reshuffles the numbers; there's no lockout and no pressure.
Is NanaTato a medical or sleep app?
No. NanaTato is a parent-led bedtime routine and calming story app. It is not a medical app and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.
